About the Role

Ignite was fully launched in 2021 primarily as a sponsorship consultancy offering for rights holders. We did this partly to close the gap between ‘what brands want’ from sponsorship, relative to how many rights owners are positioning/selling their proposition. 


We now want to take this proposition to the next level by blending our significant brand-side experience with the creative, media, marketing and analytical capabilities of Omnicom Media Group (OMG).  Furthermore, our position within OMG, domestically and internationally, presents a sales pipeline of brands that are yet to be fully leveraged.



We are looking for a Commercial Lead to take on this challenge and further build our capability across sponsorship sales and consultancy, both in the UK and internationally.  We also want to develop our suite of products, particularly via the broader Omnicom network.


The successful candidate will have a blend of sales and strategic capability, as the role primarily focuses on three core areas:


  • Securing new rights holder clients
  • Identifying/securing sponsorship leads for our current suite of rights holder clients – from inside and outside OMG
  • Product development to broaden the Ignite offering


Working closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and the Director of Strategy and Insights, you will have a ‘dotted line’ into the CEO and COO, this is a great opportunity for a commercial sales manager to step up into a commercial lead role and expand Ignites presence in the sports consultancy market.


About You


  • Solid experience of rights owner/sales development (preferably in sport)
  • Proven experience in developing and executing proposals that have led to successful deals
  • Experience working with media agencies/networks
  • Black book of prospects
  • Appreciation and understanding of developing business cases through data and analytics
  • Strategic mindset in conjunction with tactical capability
  • Contemporary approach and understanding of partnership and media landscape
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - able to tell stories with data, and effectively articulate the commercial value of sponsorship to prospects
  • Contribute to and represent Fuse in new business, producing documents and presenting as required.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset – ready to build and expand a global offering
  • Develop strong relationships across senior agency contacts and clients, acting as the expert for your field.
